2023 - Current

About the Programme
This project supports Brazil in developing a comprehensive national strategy to reduce methane emissions from urban and agricultural waste. It focuses on creating sustainable waste management guidelines that will help significantly cut methane emissions across the country. The initiative will enable local and regional entities to adopt best practices and advanced mitigation technologies, guided by technical documents designed to facilitate implementation. Ultimately, the strategy will be formally incorporated into Brazil’s national environmental and climate policies.
